What Is Valet EV Car Charging? A Guide for India
Valet EV car charging explained: how an on-demand charging valet collects your electric car, charges it and returns it, what it costs and who it suits in India.
Valet EV car charging, in one sentence
Valet EV car charging is a service where a trained driver takes your electric car to a charging station, charges it, and brings it back to you, so you never have to drive to a charger or wait beside one.
It works the way valet parking does, but the job is charging. You hand over the car, the valet does the waiting, and you get the car back ready to drive.
Why it exists: the hour charging takes
Most EV owners in India without a home charger rely on public stations. A typical session means driving to the station, finding a connector that is free, working and compatible, and then waiting 60 to 120 minutes for the charge.
At two sessions a week that adds up to roughly three working weeks a year spent at chargers. Valet charging exists to hand that time back to the owner.
How on-demand valet EV charging works
With EZAR EV you book a charge in the app, either on demand or scheduled up to seven days ahead. The full fare is calculated and locked before you confirm.
A verified pilot arrives at your home, office or parking, and takes the car only after you share a one-time OTP. They drive to the nearest live charger that matches your car's connector (CCS2, Type 2 AC, Bharat DC-001 or GB/T), charge it, and return it to the same spot, confirmed with a second OTP.
Throughout the trip you can follow the car on a live map and watch the charging power, battery percentage and running cost update in real time.
Is it safe to hand over your EV?
The safety of a charging valet service depends on its controls. On EZAR EV every pilot clears KYC, licence and background checks before their first trip, handovers are OTP-secured in both directions, and the car is insured from the moment the key changes hands until it is back with you.
Every trip is GPS-tracked end to end, and an in-app SOS connects you to a live agent who already has the trip details open.
What does valet EV charging cost?
The fare has three parts: the pickup and return distance, the charging energy at the station's live tariff, and a service fee. EZAR EV shows each part separately before you confirm, and the price does not change after booking.
Whether it is worth it comes down to what your time is worth. If a public charging session costs you an evening, valet charging buys that evening back.
Who valet EV charging is for
It suits EV owners without home charging, busy professionals who can't spare the time at a station, and fleets that want charging off the operations team's plate.
If you charge at home overnight and rarely use public stations, you probably don't need it day to day, though it is still useful before long trips or on busy weeks.
